Ok, since I was just talking about my mistakes - let's turn our attention towards someone else's!
A while ago a certain someone who shall not be disclosed here messed up an order. Which can happen, working in sales I know that. And in this case it was especially ok and needed no correction, because luckily between the tape of band A, which I had actually ordered and this debut album of band B, I certainly made the better deal.

LES NADIE - Destierro y Siembra (LP) (2023)
Les Nadie is a guitar and drums duo from Argentina and as you can probably guess from their album cover artwork they are playing Stoner Rock. But that's of course not enough to describe their quite recognizable sound.
On the instrumental side they are combining a raw and sludgy direct garage take on the genre with Doom Metal riffs, heavy Psychedelic Rock lead guitars, yet also relaxed clean parts, which sometimes bear Western vibes, but also resemble a Latin, almost jazzy Khruangbin or Causa Sui mood.
The extra spice comes with the vocals, even though they are not present on all of the nine tracks. Apart from a couple of harsher bellows the singing mostly comes in a clean to slightly gritty, but deliberately a little off way, which sits somewhere between Grunge and systemofadownish or Folk-rooted melodic curveballs. And sometimes when Juan Conde is out of lyrics he just howls like - obviously - a coyote.
Neither that vocal performance nor the music display an unheard mastership of their respective craft, but they're very effectively always doing the right thing which is needed in the moment. Yeah, that's just a needlessly convoluted way to say that this record contains some awesome, very cool shit!
I also dig the artwork including its weird but charming layout and typography choices.
