Digital Harinezumi 3.0, 08/2018

Yes, it is time for the annual look back onto my photographic activities in the previous year.

Since I am still waiting for a couple of films to come back from processing, I've decided to split it up into two posts this time and begin with my digital pictures.

The only two digital cameras I have in use are a Canon EOS 400D DSLR, which to my luck still hasn't fallen apart and of course my beloved Digital Harinezumi 3.0, for which the luck thing counts even more. If that camera leaves me one day, I really have to adjust, especially since I still shoot almost all my live music pictures with it.

But that's in the - hopefully far away - future.

Lets begin with the DSLR. I didn't have some kind of weekly project to force me to use for something other than pictures of new records, so it collected a lot of dust. But inbetween that I did a couple of lazy shots right at home:

My grandfather passed away this year. On the day of his funeral I took a long walk through his garden, which he had tended to until only a couple of months before the end.

In December I did two photo sessions with models. Well, one was extremely brief. It's my third niece, who shares her birthday with my nephew. As if the year didn't have enough days.

And then I was also invited to do some promo pictures for the band Majak. To my surprise the shooting was not only held during cold and wet weather, but it also included a good amount of blood and (as the new ultra-puritanical tumblr would put it) female presenting nipples. Since I don't know yet which pictures will be used in what form, I'm keeping those under wraps for now.

I felt a bit rusty doing this kind of thing and there were several details overlooked, but we got some cool stuff and it was good fun. Would be nice to do some more band shootings, actually.

I also photographed a couple of bands/artists on stage with the DSLR. Namely Vnrest, Father Sky Mother Earth and Horizon Of The Mute, when they played together with my band DruturuM in Heide and Rendsburg, and all bands at the Heidenlärm Festival.
